EMUs are stripped

Stripping out of the interiors of two 4-CEP EMU driving vehicles has commenced at Eastleigh Works in preparation for restoration to original condition. Driving Motor Brake Seconds 61229/230 from unit 7105 are normally based at the East Kent Railway but have been taken to Eastleigh so that 1970's upgrades can be reversed and the unit returned to its original appearance. Lowered ceilings are being removed as are the tinted hopper windows and yellow and orange wall coverings while the seats will be changed for a set in the original style.
