The City Tunnel in Malmo, Sweden's third largest city, links the railways north and east of Malmo with the Sound Link (Oresund Bridge) to Denmark. Construction of the tunnel began in March, 2005, and included: 1. a 17-km (10.56 mi) long electrified railway connection through Malmo 2. the addition of 6 km (3.73 mi) of rail in parallel tunnels under the city 3. three railway stations, with two underground.
