Union Pacific outlines $206.7 million capital spending across eight states

Union Pacific unveiled details about its planned spending in eight states. The total investment by the Class 1 reaches $206.7 million. Iowa will see the largest investment of the recent released state plans with $68 million being spent, which includes $55 million for track maintenance and $10 million for bridges. A total of $36 million will be spent in Colorado, which includes $33 million for track maintenance and $1 million for bridge maintenance. Union Pacific will also replace more than 65,000 crossties in the state and install more than 28,000 tons of ballast.
