UIC High Speed Rail Congress in Philadelphia

The eighth world congress on high-speed travel by rail is to take place between 10 and 13 July 2012 in Philadelphia, organised jointly by the UIC and APTA. The author describes the objectives underlying the idea of travel at high speeds and their implementation within the UIC and the official European bodies. The UIC has staged various large symposiums on high-speed rail in various parts of the world since 1992. The High Speed Rail Congress in Philadelphia, taking place in a location steeped in history, is going to gather the railway world together for an intensive exchange of views.%Der achte Weltkongress zum Hochgeschwindigkeitsverkehr (HGV) wird vom 10.-13.
