CSX vote too close to call

Four of the five nominees proposed by investment funds TCI and 3G for election to the CSX board (RG 6.08 p359) have been elected, according to preliminary figures published on July 16 by independent scrutineer IVC Associates. CSX had not announced the results of the vote at its annual general meeting on June 25, claiming the result was too close. TCI founder Chris Hohn, 3G Managing Director Alex Behring, former CN director Gilbert Lamphere and London Underground Managing Director Tim O'Toole will join the 12-strong board, subject to confirmation of the appointments at a reconvened AGM on July 25.
