The first painted carbody for the next generation of Nightjet trains was unveiled at Siemens Mobility's Simmering plant on February 23.OEBB ordered 13 seven-car sets in August 2018, and subsequently announced its intention to order a further 20. Each will be formed of two seating, three couchette and two sleeping cars. The couchettes will include 'mini-suites' offering more privacy for lone travellers, while the sleepers will have standard and deluxe compartments with their own toilet and shower. Each set will include a multifunctional vehicle with a low-floor entrance and accessible couchette.
