Dimitra Liveri, Security 8c Resilience of Communications Officer at the European Union Agency for Network Information & Security, had a stark warning for delegates attending the SmartRail World event in Amsterdam on April 18. Calling for 'a shift in culture' among railway organisations, she highlighted the need for staff to be made aware of the requirements of cybersecurity through training and 'cyberhygiene'. Training in basic procedures such as passwords and locking computers 'brings a huge increase in the level of awareness', she said.
