Project promoter Dhaka Mass Transit Co signed the ¥55bn railway systems contract for Dhaka metro Line 6 with a joint venture of Marubeni and Larsen &Toubro on June 3. The joint venture will supply eight traction substations, l-5 kV DC overhead catenary, CBTC signalling, LTE telecoms, platform screen doors, station escalators and lifts, an automatic fare collection system and ballasted track for the depot and ballastless track to be used elsewhere. The contract includes six years of maintenance.
