Last month we began making rock castings for the On30 Kootenay Lakes diorama. We will continue this month by adding several more castings to the cliff. By applying the plaster castings "wet" they can easily be overlapped to create a large, continuous cliff with no gaps to fill in later with Sculptamold~? or other fillers. Generally, it is a good idea to start applying castings at the top of a cliff area and work your way down, overlap- ping castings as you go. This creates a modest "stair step" in the castings and a rock face which will look realistic when finished.
