Open access operators Hull Trains and Grand Central have both suspended services for a second time, in response to the new lockdown. GC Managing Director Richard McClean said the operator plans to restart running trains from December 3, but his Hull Trains counterpart Louise Cheeseman said HT would return only when it was financially viable to do so. Shadow Rail Minister Tan Dhesi tweeted that he and other MPs had raised the issue of financial support for HT, "but unfortunately Government weren't in listening mode and didn't provide the required support". Hull Trains (owned by FirstGroup) suspended services for a second time from 0001 on November 5, as the second lockdown began. It had previously taken this course of action in March, at the start of the first lockdown. Trains had only returned to the main line on August 21 (RM. 913).
