FROM December, the only High Speed Trains remaining in traffic with Great Western Railway are expected to be the 11 four-coach 'Castle' sets, with the operator dispensing with its Classic 'mini' sets by that point. GWR also expects the final off-lease vehicles to be dispatched for storage by the middle of the summer. This will then enable Laira depot (Plymouth) to bid for more work, such as maintenance of the Crosscountry HST fleet that it started on December 9 last year.
