The veteran who raised more than £29 million for NHS Charities Together to mark his 100th birthday has had a Great Western Railway Intercity Express Train named in his honour. Five-car 800025 was named Captain Tom Moore on April 29 and was due to enter traffic the following day - his birthday (after this issue of RAIL went to press). The naming follows requests from GWR staff and the general public.
