Andy Pitt, managing director of South West Trains, has confirmed he plans to retire at the turn of the year. Pitt, 52, will leave the Toe on 2 January 2012. Tim Shoveller, 38, managing director of East Midlands Trains, will take over as MD-designate at SWT on 1 December 2011, shadowing Pitt for a month before taking over in January. David Home, 39, will succeed Tim Shoveller as managing director of East Midlands Trains, where he is currently commercial and customer service director.
