The first full six-month contribution from Crosscountry delivered a 'step change' in operating profit at the UK Trains division of Arriva plc in the first half of 2008, up at ￡14.8m from ￡1.1m the year before. Revenue in the six months to June 30 2008 was up at ￡415.5m from ￡121.6m, according to interim results announced on August 22.
