Directly Operated Railways, the DfT subsidiary expected to take over from National Express East Coast at the forthcoming timetable change, has abandoned its search for an alternative to Alstom Class 180 DMUs to operate the enhanced Service Level Commitment 2 timetable from December 2010, reports Tony Miles.
