Following the granting of a Transport ft Works Act Order, promoters Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council will now seek Treasury approval of the business case for Phase 2 of Nottingham Express Transit. Comprising two routes from Nottingham station, one running 10 km to Chilwell and the other 7.5 km to Clifton, Phase 2 has a ceiling cost of £482m agreed with the government, including £82m of contingency.rnOf the £400m project cost, the government would provide £300m.rnLocal funding would come from the city council (£80m) and the county council (£20m). Nottingham City Council has proposed to generate much of its contribution by introducing a workplace parking levy.
