TfL has announced alterations to the London Overground timetable on the North London Line from April 20 to December 12. This will enable work to start in earnest on the ￡326m project to restore the fourth track between Dalston and Camden Road, where a new third platform will allow trains from Stratford to turn back. Signalling will be upgraded to cut headways, and a total of 30 platforms lengthened.rnThis will enable London Overground to operate eight trains/h between Stratford and Camden Road from 2011 while still accommodating freight trains on this important cross-London route (above). The first contract for the project worth ￡100m was awarded to Carillion in February.rnFrom April 20 there will only be threerntrains/h from Richmond to Stratford in the peaks, but all peak services from Clapham Junction to Willesden will run through to Stratford. There will thus be six peak trains/h between Willesden and Stratford, a significant improvement on the current frequency.
