After a series of postponements, initially to January 26 and then to February 9, the full WCML timetables for Virgin West Coast, London Midland and Southern service that should have come into force on December 14 2008 were eventually implemented in full on February 16.rnLast December's timetable should have introduced more than 1 000 new services a week on the WCML, including a doubling of Sunday trains. However, because the number of infrastructure failures was deemed to be at too high a level, the decision was made to suspend some of the improvements for what was described to Southern as 'making sure that testing was complete'.
