The completion of the 1.5 million mile H2 overhaul programme for the 52-strong Virgin Class 390 fleet on June 27 was marked the next day with a short presentation to the entire workforce at Alstom's Manchester TTaincare Centre as the final set, No 390 002, was released back into traffic. The programme was completed on time in just under 15 months.rnOver 19 000 components were replaced on each trainset, a total of almost 1 million items, including the overhaul of 1 248 traction motors and fans. The programme also involved the overhaul of 936 bogies and 104 pantographs, creating 240 tonnes of scrap.
