Third V-Train to test ETCS

Under a facilitation agreement with Network Rail, Hitachi is to trial onboard ETCS equipment in the UK based on the CTCS3 technology it is already supplying to the Chinese market.rnAccording to Hitachi Rail Europe's Signalling Project Manager Richard Tomlin, design work and component procurement is underway in Japan to adapt CTCS3 to meet European standards.rnThe agreement would see Hitachi introduce its third 'Verification Train' for the UK market. The first, a converted Class 310 EMU, tested traction equipment for the Class 395, and the second was the battery hybrid HST powerrncar 'Hayabusa'.
