Thameslink uncertainty grows

While the original date of December 2015 for delivering Key Output 2 of the Thameslink Programme has certainly slipped, a revised project schedule has yet to be determined. Ministers have been quoting 'from 2016' for the delivery of KO2 in recent written answers and statements to the House of Commons. 'From 2016' is also used in ORR's latest edition of Network Rail Monitor (p4), published on March 3 and covering the period from October 18 2009 to January 9 2010. Asked why a more precise date for delivery of KO2 was not available, ORR's Director of Access, Planning & Performance Michael Lee explained that one could not be provided with any confidence until the revised plans for London Bridge, currently under development, were finalised.
