DfT wants regenerative retrofit

With the ROSCOs now developing proposals for extending the life of ex-BR rolling stock, DfT's consultation document on the Greater Anglia franchise (p6) suggests that it could support investment in major re-engineering schemes. DfT says that it is 'keen' that any 'refresh' and life-extension work proposed by bidders for the 'older EMU fleet' should seek opportunities to incorporate regenerative braking.
