Crosscountry has signed a contract with Nomad Digital for the installation of wi-fi on its Voyager and HST fleets, a significant step in delivering a franchise commitment which should have seen wi-fi available by November 11 2009. 'Work to install the system will begin early next year, with the five HSTs being the first to be fully fitted by the spring', said Crosscountry. 'The larger fleet of 57 Voyager trains will also be fitted out during 2012'. Having missed at least three deadlines, Crosscountry has been making a payment to DfT every period in lieu of delivering this commitment.
