ScotRail is to launch a half-hourly Sunday service on its principal Edinburgh - Glasgow route on September 9. A total of 12 additional trains operating via Falkirk High will add over 2 250 seats to the route, offering the first half-hourly service in both directions on a Sunday since the line opened 170 years ago. 'We recognise that people's travelling patterns continue to change and these new, more frequent services offer even more opportunities for people to make the switch to rail, delivering environmental and economic benefits for Scotland', said ScotRail Managing Director Steve Mnntnomerv.
