Asked by RBI on May 10 if she supported DfT's apparent policy of cutting ticket office opening hours to reduce costs, Transport Minister Theresa Villiers said 'we can't completely exempt ticket offices from overall efforts to make the railway more sustainable'.Citing experience at TfL, she noted that 'the move to Oyster has had an impact on the extent to which people need ticket offices', and 'as that smarter ticketing is spread out more widely it is going to have an impact'.
