Industry members to be axed

Welcoming the publication of the government's command paper on March 8, Network Rail announced a series of governance changes including the appointment of a public interest director 'able to ensure that the interests of taxpayers are articulated during board discussions'. Appointed in consultation with the members' co-ordinator, the new non-executive director would be selected 'to demonstrate specific skills and interests in public policy, finance and corporate and social responsibility'.
