Work starts on Basingstoke ROC

An official ceremony was held on September 27 to mark the start of work on the Rail Operating & Training Centre at Basingstoke, one of the 12 ROCs being constructed by Network Rail to replace signal-boxes across the country (RBI446 p2). Being built by BAM Construction, the ROC is due for completion by the end of 2014, with the first signallers due to be working from the new building by the end of 2015.
