Ecofret deliveries completed

VTG Rail UK has completed the delivery to Freightliner Ltd of 21 more Ecofret container wagons ordered in spring 2014, which brings the operator's Ecofret fleet to 64 twin-platform wagons. 'Ecofret is proving to be as popular as we had hoped', said VTG Rail UK Ltd Managing Director Rob Brook. 'It is an ideal vehicle, designed to maximise the number of 40 ft containers, now predominant in the deep sea shipping market, that can be carried in a given train length.' Mixing Ecofrets with existing 60 ft wagons such as FEAs helps to eliminate the common 20 ft gaps on intermodal trains.
