As part of its Predict & Prevent Programme, which seeks to pre-empt train failures through monitoring of onboard equipment, London Underground has issued an OJEU notice for the supply of ethernet equipment for the Jubilee Line fleet. An initial contract covering three trains could be extended to the rest of the 63-strong fleet. This would depend on the overall costs from bidders supporting the business case for the programme, plus the number of trains that need to be fitted. The contract will cover the sup-pry of materials, including inter-car jumper cables, the production of kits of parts and installation for both ethernet and radio data communications. Installation is due to start in April 2016. Fitment of the full fleet would extend to March 2019.
