Procurement starts for Barking Riverside

Transport for London has issued an OJEU notice starting procurement for construction of the London Overground extension to Barking Riverside. The 4 km extension 'from Barking station to the new Barking Riverside development' includes 1.5 km of new track. Estimated to cost £100m to £120m, the project will include track, signalling, construction of a new station, major civils works, overhead line electrification and connection to the national rail network at Barking. A suppliers' day is to be held for interested companies before the end of this year.
