SMIS+ goes live on December 5

RSSB reports that it is now working with its member organisations to ensure 'a smooth transition' to SMIS+, the replacement for the Safety Management Intelligence System which is due to go live on December 5. The new on-line safety reporting system for the industry will be 'capable of marshalling far greater amounts of incident data, analvsis and business intelligence', according to RSSB. Each year around 75 000 events are entered into the SMIS database, first set up in 1997. The roll-out of SMIS+ should see it transformed into 'a completely new cloud-based enterprise system', says RSSB, adding that it will be 'fresh and intuitive'.
