Bolton - Preston electrification works

Major engineering work at Chorley in connection with the electrification of the Manchester - Preston route will affect passengers travelling between Preston and Bolton, with the line closed every weekend and some mid-week evening timetables amended. Track near Chorley station will be lowered to accommodate overhead line equipment, while both platforms will be rebuilt and the roofs over two subways replaced.
