Rail profit falls 26% at FirstGroup

Announcing preliminary results for the year to March 31 2017 on June 1, FirstGroup pic reported revenue of £1 268·8m at its rail division, down 3·0% from £1 308·4m the year before. This reflected like-for-like passenger revenue growth of 1·3%, offset by reduced subsidy receipts and the removal of routes from the replacement TransPen-nine Express franchise which had started on April 1 2016.
