On April 7 HS2 Ltd announced the start of tendering for contracts to undertake detailed design of the four stations on Phase 1 of the high-speed line. A separate com-petition is also being held to select a Master Development Partner for London Euston. Interested parties can bid for all four station design contracts, cov-ering Birmingham Curzon Street, Birmingham Interchange, Old Oak Common and London Euston, but would be awarded a maximum of one. The Master Development Partner would work with HS2 Ltd, Network Rail, the winner of the Euston design contract and local authorities to advise on, and later take forward, development oppor-tunities for residential, commercial and retail space above and around the station.
