A team from Ruhr University said they can now quickly overcome the KeeLoq security system, a cipher used in many car anti-theft mechanisms, including those used by Chrysler, Daewoo, Fiat, General Motors, Honda, Jaguar, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo as well as several garage door opening devices.rnThey used a new method of attack that is completely different to the older way of electronically breaking into cars secured with rolling code systems. The devices that are currently available work by 'eavesdropping' on the legitimate owner's transmission when he tries to lock his car with the remote control.
