Observations of thermospheric dynamics at high latitudes from ground and space

Comprehensive experimental investigations of the phenomenology of the F region neutral wind and ion convection at high latitudes combined with improved theoretical modeling efforts have resulted in major advances in our current understanding of thermospheric dynamics of this region. We review the recent progress in this field.
