This has reference to the newspaper report (Fukushima Disaster raised Cancer Risk-World Health Organization [WHO]) in Times of India, dated March 1, 2013. With all the due respect for the WHO and the team of experts who have carried out cancer risk assessment using the estimated radiation effective doses to most exposed group of the population, it can be stated that: 1.The releases of radioactive materials from Fukushima are very much lower (about one-tenth) than that from the Chernobyl.
