Aiming high

A couple of months' ago, we took a look at the 'HPSDR' or High Performance Software Defined Radio project. The HPSDR is an international open-source GNU-type hardware and software project intended as a 'next generation' SDR for use by radio amateurs and shortwave listeners. Since then another fascinating GNU-based next generation SDR project has emerged - this one is called "microwave SDR" or "μWSDR" and is based in Europe and aimed squarely at microwaves and VHF/UHF.
