I grew up with likes of Pitts Specials, Super Chipmunks, and Aeromasters, but in the last 10 years the CAP, Giles, Edge started to edge out the old school planes, 'till today you will not find a flying club that does not have several Yaks and a similar number of Extras. The majority of these will be powered with big engines that 20 years ago would have been looked on with awe. The Extra 260 EP ARTF from Black Horse is following the expansion of the freestyle side of aerobatics in our hobby. The 1070 mm (42") wingspan is just right to fit in the majority of cars fully assembled; throw in the plug-in wings and the Black Horse Extra tucks away nicely ready for the odd lunch time flight. Designed to be light, responsive and have far more than its own weight in thrust, its modern brushless motor and just over one metre wingspan easily carry the needed 3S 2100 mAh LiPo 160 g flightpack.
