Although I have not quite completed the electric powered Comper Swift it should have flown by the time this article is published. The model was designed to have plug-in wings, this being an alteration to the original 1/3rd scale model design that followed the full size aircraft in having folding wings. This seemed a reasonable modification at the time as the model was not for competition use and there would be no need for complicated hinges. Everything had gone well with the build and was looking good until I assembled the model. Although the model had working struts the wings would not stay in the correct position. The front wire dowel was slipping out of its tube opening a gap up at the root.
