When I first became enmeshed in the business of flying scale sailplanes, 27 MHz was the flavour of the day and mobile phones and the Internet were the stuff of Science Fiction writers. During the intervening years things have changed out of all recognition, and there still doesn't seem to be an end to it, either. The most obvious evolution is that of size, after all, if realism in flight is the goal of the scale modeller, then the nearer his model can get to the full size, the closer it will emulate it in the air.
