Cutlass 55

In early 2009 I designed and made a little 16" span, accurate profile scale outline, Cutlass from 6 mm Depron and with a pusher prop. This was partly for amusement and partly to see how well such a small model could be made to fly. In fact it flew very well indeed and its small size meant it could happily fit on top of the luggage when holidaying in the UK by car. I had a hankering for an EDF version though and, having a 'spare' 50 mm fan unit (1.97" 6-blade with KEDA KB20-40-12L 4800 rpm/V inrunner and 30 A ESC) hanging around the workshop, I re-designed the model to 24" span in order to fit the unit into it. Later, again on a whim, I made a diesel-powered version too.
