The Scale National Championships are part of the BMFA Nationals that take place at RAF Barkston Heath over the August Bank Holiday weekend. I had been keeping an anxious watch on the weather forecast during the week leading up to the championships, as it seemed that we might just get some good model flying weather. By Friday my hopes were somewhat shattered as the latest prediction was for strong winds, particularly on the Sunday. On my way down the A1 on early Saturday morning things were looking encouraging with blue skies and a not too strong breeze. However this did not last and by the time I got to Barkston Heath the wind had strengthened but not too much for flying.
