FRUSTRATING EXHAUST

This piece was born by the chance discovery of an exhaust silencer in the short grass by the edge of the runway. It was some days after a fellow flyer had complained bitterly about this unit always vibrating loose in flight. From my experience on the flight line this is not an unusual occurrence. Indeed I have known modellers who have resorted to fixing a lanyard wire to make sure the offending article doesn't depart the airframe when it comes loose! There must be an answer, as I have suffered from this phenomenon myself, and on some excellent engines.
