I wish to express my concerns over the paper by Dogan et al. (2012) published in Quaternary International. There are a number of flaws and inconsistencies in their interpretation of the data that may seriously affect their conclusions. Along the eastern Mediterranean coastline from the Syrian border in the south to the Cevlik area of Turkey in the north there are a number of tectonically uplifted coastlines that contain mollusk deposits.
