For 2007 the West of England branch arranged a field trip to the Hartham Park Quarry of Hanson Bath Stone. The visit was split over two dates in September due to the high demand for places to see this fascinating operation. On both occasions the groups were given a very informative tour of this working underground quarry by site manager Shahram Hakinzadeh and his team. Shahram had given the branch a very interesting technical presentation on dimension stone quarrying in the area back in July, which led to 22 people taking part in the visits. Because site safety rules allow only six visitors at a time when the quarry is operational, the two groups were shown around when the quarry was not working.
