Nearly 50 members and guests gathered at the Somerset Earth Science Centre on 13 September to hear Martin Isles, director of health and safety with the Mineral Products Association (MPA), give a talk entitled: 'Health and Safety - Performance and Progression'.rnMartin began by outlining the 85% reduction in lost-time injuries over the last 10 years. He then gave details of the MPA's hard targets for 2014. The overarching expectation is zero harm, ideally both for accidents and ill health.
