New asphalt plant for Isle of Wight

ISLE of Wight Council has approved Wight Building Materials' planning application to replace the existing asphalt plant at Blackwater Quarry, St Georges, with a new, modern, high-performance facility for asphalt production and recycling. Wight Building Materials, the recently formed joint venture between Aggregate Industries and Eurovia, say the new facility will involve capital investment of more £3.5 million and represents a long-term commitment to support a sustainable building materials business on the Isle of Wight. Scott Wardrop, chief executive of Eurovia UK, said: Aggregate Industries and Eurovia are pleased to get formal approval from Isle of Wight Council for a new asphalt production facility and for asphalt aggregate recycling.
