Happy Birthday QST and a Progress Report on the ARRL Strategic Plan

One hundred years ago, in December 1915, a middle-aged Hiram Percy Maxim and a teenage Clarence Tuska, working only a few miles away from the ARRLs current headquarters, literally cranked out the first issue of QST on a mimeograph machine. With this issue, QST officially celebrates its 100th birthday. I wonder if Maxim and Tuska envisioned that QST would still be going strong after 100 years! Remarkably, much of QSTs editorial content - in the form of articles, reports, and event notifications - still comes directly from ARRL members. To all the publishers, editors, writers, columnists, production staff, layout artists, photographers, illustrators, account executives, circulation and fulfillment staff, and everyone else who has contributed to publishing QST every month - thank you. Also, thanks to our members and advertisers who have supported QST for the past 100 years. That is a long time for any publication. Happy Birthday QST, and many more!
