Ahlstrom still in the red in third quarter of 2014

In the third quarter of 2014, Ahlstrom Corporation reduced its net loss for the period under review to €17m after a loss of €21 m in the same quarter of last year. The operating result in the third quarter of 2014 was -€13.4m, after an operating profit of €1.5m a year earlier. Sales were more or less on par with last year's level at €252.0m (third quarter 2013: €251.1 m). The company's net result for the period of January-September 2014 slipped into the red at -€8.2m after a profit of €48.7m had been posted a year earlier.The operating profit in the first nine months of 2014 was €600,000 after a figure of €16.3m in the first three quarters of 2013. Sales in the period under review were slightly lower than last year's figure at €754.1 m (€771,4m).
